Day 1: Picked up from Kualanamu Airport, Medan, North Sumatera - Transfer to Bukit Lawang

Upon arrival at Kualanamu Airport, North Sumatera, our driver will meet you at the arrival gate. Then, drive to Bukit Lawang for approximately 3 hours. Check in at the booked hotel in Bukit Lawang.

Day 2: Elephant washing in Tangkahan Sanctuary

After breakfast your assigned tour guide meets you at the hotel lobby. Then, the tour takes you firstly to the west to the elephant sanctuary of Tangkahan. It takes approximately 2, 5 hours through the huge oil palm plantation and the small villages. It is a great adventure with 4-wheel drive vehicle on bumpy roads. Fill the guest book at the entrance, then take an easy walk about 10 minutes from the parking lot to one of the beautiful rivers in Tangkahan. You have a chance to take a bath in the river. There may be local travelers as well who come to enjoy bathing at the river. After that drive about 10 minutes to Tangkahan elephant sanctuary. Tangkahan sanctuary is located at the river. You have a chance to enjoy your time with elephants. You are allowed to wash and feed the elephants. In the afternoon return to your hotel in Bukit Lawang.

Day 3: Orangutan Trekking in Gunung Leuser National Park

At the third day you will enjoy your time to see the wild animals in the real nature of Gunung Leuser National Park. The trek is quiet challenging. Walk up and down the hill through the forest. This is a great experience, because the travelers can see exotic animals such as gibbon, Thomas’s leaf monkey, macaque, orangutan, and birds such as cassowary, hornbill, tokhtor endemic bird, and more. Arrive at the riverbank after approximately 5 hours trek through the forest. Then enjoy bathing in the river. The water is so clear. Dinner and overnight in a simple tent at the riverbank. There are mattresses, blanked, and mosquito net.

Day 4: Rafting with car tire inner tube back to Bukit Lawang

After breakfast in the morning take an easy walk through the river to visit a waterfall nearby. There is a small pool at the fall where you can soak in the very fresh mountain water. Back to the tent to prepare your belongings. Then, enjoy the amazing wild water rafting on an inner tire tube back to your hotel in Bukit Lawang. It takes approximately 1 hour through the river with beautiful forest.

Day 5: Transfer to Kualanamu Airport – Flight to Jakarta – Jakarta City Tour

After 4 days of Sumatera adventure, your Cross Indonesia Adventure will take you to the next Island. Wake up in the very early morning. Your driver will pick you up at the hotel and drive approximately 3 hours to Kualanamu airport, Medan. Then, take 2 hours flight to Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Upon arrival at Sukarno International Airport Jakarta, the hotel driver meets you at the arrival gate. Then, transfer to the booked hotel about 10 minutes. After checking in at the hotel, please be ready for the city tour. Your assigned tour guide waits for you at the hotel lobby and gives you a short briefing before the tour starts. After that, enjoy the Jakarta city tour until evening. What to see in this trip is the National Monument, National Museum, Old town, and botanical garden of Bogor.

Day 6: Jakarta – Pankgalan Bun – Tanjung Puting National Park

Picked up at the hotel at 04:00 am, then transfer to Sukarno Hatta Airport. Depart for Pankalan Bun with domestic flight. Meet your tour guide at Pankalan Bun airport, then transfer to Kumai River approximately 30 minutes.  A local traditional Boat called “Klotok” will pick you up at the pier of Kumai. From Kumai port, enjoy your boat trip through Kumai River approximately 30 minutes, then head to Sekonyer River. Sekonyer is a smaller river that flows through the forest in Tanjung Putting national park. Along the Sekonyer River you will discover the beautiful view through the Nipa palm until the trip enters the huge forest. Then please be ready with your camera, because there are many proboscis monkeys on the trees along the riverbanks. There are also other exotic animals to see such as endemic birds, crocodile, and macaques. In the late afternoon arrive in Pesalat. Dinner and overnight on the boat.

Day 7: Pesalat Camp – Camp Leakey - Houseboat

Today your trip starts with a visit to Pesalat camp, a former rehabilitation place of orangutans. Enjoy trekking through the rainforest approximately 1, 5 hours to visit the Pesalat camp. During feeding from 09:00 am – 10:00 am you will see the orangutans that dominate the territory. After that back to the river. Your boat trip continues to Camp Leakey through the black river. This small river flows through the huge rainforest in the heart of Tanjung Puting national park. The tall trees along the river sides will give you a fresh shade in the hot day. Stop at the small port of the black river, then go trekking through the forest until you arrive at Camp Leakey before the feeding time at 14:00 pm. During the feeding time you can see the wild Orangutans, warthogs and lemur coming out from the forest for the food, meanwhile you can hear the sweet-sounding voice of the hornbills and other tropical birds in the calm and peaceful forest. After the feeding time, back to the boat, then continue through Sekonyer River to Pondok Tanggui.  Dinner and overnight on your boat.

Day 8: Pondok Tanggui – Tanjung Harapan Village – Tanjung Harapan Camp – Houseboat

On the 8th day you will discover the Orangutans in Pondok Tanggui and Tanjung Harapan. After breakfast enjoy your morning trip boating through the calm and peaceful forest from Camp Leakey to Pondok Tanggui. Then, take an easy walk to Pondok Tanggui camp to visit the Orangutan feeding at 09:00 am. After that enjoy your boat trip to visit Tanjung Harapan village. Lunch will be provided on board. At 15:00 pm visit Tanjung Harapan Camp to see the last Orangutans feeding. Then continue by boat to Nipa Palm where you can enjoy your beautiful evening with thousands of fireflies at the riverbank. Dinner and overnight on the boat there.

Day 9: Nipa Palm – Pangkalan Bun – Semarang – Magelang

The boat trip heading for Kumai starts before the daybreak. It takes approximately 1, 5 hours. Meet your driver at Kumai, then transfer to Pangkalan Bun airport approximately 30 minutes. Then, depart for Semarang, central Java. Upon arrival at Jenderal Ahmad Yani airport, our assigned driver meets you at the arrival gate. Then transfer to Magelang about 3, 5 hours. Check in at the booked hotel in Magelang.

Day 10: Borobudur and Prambana Temple - Yogyakarta

Picked up at the hotel at 08:30 am. The tour starts with a visit to Borobudur. It is the largest Buddhist temple in southeast Asia. This great temple was recognized by UNESCO as a cultural heritage site in 1991. You will be escorted to discover and learn about the historical monument while enjoying the beauty of the surrounding area. Next, visit Prambanan, the largest Hindu temple of Indonesia. This great temple is the heritage of the Kediri Kingdom. It was erected in 1200 A.D. Explore the temple complex and find the best place to capture your best moment in the temple. After that enjoy Yogyakarta city tour and visit the Sultan palace of Yogyakarta. In the afternoon back to your hotel in Yogyakarta.

Day 11: Yogyakarta – Bromo

Picked up at your hotel in Yogyakarta very early morning. Then, transfer with a comfortable car to the train station. After that enjoy a long journey with the train from Yogyakarta to Mojokerto approximately 4 hours. Then, continue with a comfortable car from Mojokerto to Bromo with a stop for lunch on the way. Arrive in Bromo in the late afternoon.

Day 12: Bromo-Ketapang East Java

Wake up in the early morning at 02:45 am and get ready for the sunrise tour Bromo mount. Your assigned guide waits for you at the hotel lobby. Your trip starts at 03:00 am. Firstly drive uphill to Bukit Penanjakan on a small and winding road until you arrive at the parking area. From there you can walk about 10 minutes to the top of Bukit Penanjakan where you can wait for the spectacular sunrise. Please don’t forget to wear a jacket, because the weather at Bukit Penanjakan can be very cold. Bromo is one of the most breathtaking sights of Indonesia. Especially when the Bromo and other mountains at the National Park peak up through the thick cloud cover. After the sunrise, drive into the lava sand sea and stop at Poten temple. Then, walk for about 30 minutes to Bromo mount and followed by 250 stairs to the crater rim of Bromo mount. Back to the hotel for breakfast and shower. After that enjoy a long drive about 7 hours including lunch time to Ketapang east Java. Check in at the booked hotel there.

Day 13: Ijen Mount Hiking - Cross the Bali strait with Ferry to Gilimanuk west Bali

Wake up in the early morning at 02:00 am and get ready for the sunrise trekking tour Ijen mount. Your assigned guide waits for you at the hotel lobby. Your trip starts at 03:00 am. A 4 wheel comes to pick you up at the hotel and takes you on a small and winding road to Paltuding, a parking area that located at the slope of mount Ijen. From there you hike up the mountain about 2 hours. Upon arrival at the top of the mount Ijen you will be welcomed by a beautiful Turkish blue crater lake and the spectacular sunrise. Please don’t forget to wear a jacket, because the weather at the mountain top can be very cold. If you want to see the blue fire, the trip must start earlier at 12:00pm from your hotel in Ketapang. After sunrise back to the hotel for breakfast and shower. Then, continue to the Ketapang harbor from where you cross the sea with ferry to Gilimanuk west Bali about one hour. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Gilimanuk. Next, your trip goes along the northwest coast to Labuan Lalang.  Check in at the booked hotel there.

Day 14: Snorkeling Tour to Menjangan Island in West Bali National Park

Today you will explore the beautiful coral landscape that preads around the Menjangan Island. After breakfast in the hotel, your car pics you up at the hotel lobby, then transfer to the pier of Labuan Lalang. Jump into a traditional wooden boat, then cross the sea about 30 minutes to Menjangan Island. Upon arrival at Menjangan Island, you will be welcomed by a wonderful white sand beach. The snorkeling activity starts from your boat. First explore the eastern part of the Island coast where you can see the gorgeous coral reef landscape with plenty of colorful marine animals. Next, your snorkeling tour goes to the north coast. You will be amazed to see the wonderful coral reefs at this place. Back to Labuahan Lalang. From Labuan Lalang, your car takes you further to the east to Singaraja town, the former capital of Bali province. Lunch will be served in a local restaurant in Pemuteran. In the late afternoon, check in at Aditya hotel in Lovina.

Day 15: Dolphin Tour - Munduk Waterfall - Ulun Danu Water Temple at Bratan Lake - Jatiluwih

This morning you have to wake up very early. Meet you tour guide at the hotel lobby and walk to the beach where a local boat is waiting for you. Your trip starts with dolphin watching at the north Bali Sea. This boat trip takes time maximum 2 hours. After that back to the hotel for breakfast and shower. Then, your trip continues along the scenic road for a visit to Munduk waterfall. This impressive waterfall is situated in the heart of Bali’s largest clove forest and located about 800 m from the parking area. To reach the waterfall, you have to walk downhill on a small path to the river. Back also the same way. From Munduk, drive to the mountain lakes of Bratan, Buyan and Tamblingan. Visit the impressive Ulun Danu water temple at Bratan lake. Lunch will be served at the local restaurant at the lake side. After lunch continue to Jatiluwih rice-terraces, a UNESCO culture heritage site since 2012. Check in at the booked hotel in Jatiluwih.

Day 16: Jungle temple of Batukaru - Tanah Lot Sea Temple - Uluwatu temple - Nusa Dua

Check out from your hotel after breakfast, then meet your guide at the lobby. Your trip starts with a visit to the jungle temple of Batukaru.  The Batukaru Temple is one of the holly temples in Bali. This temple is located at the slope of mount Batukaru and surrounded by a huge forest. It is a recommended place for the visitors who seek for peace and harmony. Next, visit the sea temple of Tanah Lot. It takes about one hour from Batukaru. Tanah Lot temple is situated on a rock in the sea and dedicated to Baruna/ Varuna, the God of the ocean. Just like a boat floating in the middle of the sea. Tanah Lot is a beautiful place and becomes one of the most visited places in Bali. After Tanah Lot, your trip takes you to Uluwatu for a visit to Uluwatu temple. This stunning temple is located at the southern tip of Bali Island. It is situated on a high cliff and offers a spectacular sunset. But it is important to know that Uluwatu is home to thousands of grey macaques. They are aggressive monkeys. Please be careful with your mobile phone, camera, bag and jewelries, because sometimes the monkey can still them from you. After the visit of Uluwatu temple, your car takes you to the booked hotel in Nusa Dua.

Day 19: Flight from Bali to Maumere

Picked up at your hotel in Bali and transfer to Ngurah Rai airport. Then, departure for Maumere. Upon arrival at the Airport in Maumere, meet your assigned tour guide. Drive to Dokar village where you can see the local dance performance which is held by the villagers. This is a very interesting traditional attraction of the Sikaness. Check in at the Sea world Club hotel in Maumere.

Day 20: Drive to Moni

Check out from hotel after breakfast. Your trip starts with visiting the Bikon Blewut museum that situated approximately 30 minutes by car to the southwest from Maumere. This museum is part of the St. Paulus Roman Catholic University of Ledalero. A collection of cultural tools from the Paleolithic, Mesolithic, Neolithic, and the Bronze Age are placed in this museum. This museum was established in 1965 by Pr. Dr. Theodor Lambertus Verhoeven SVD (born in Uden, Nederland, in September 14, 1907). After visiting the museum, then, continue to Moni with a stop at the awesome white sand Koka beach. Lunch at a local restaurant nearby. Arrive in Moni in the late afternoon. Check in at the booked hotel in Moni.
